One hour long shoot in a location of your choice.
We can start out simple about an hour before sunset and get to know each other, giving the kids a chance to warm up to me. Kids need to know this is going to be fun and they can be themselves so we start with some games and some photos with the whole family where they can do a "good one" and a silly one".
So we can have classy photos in our nice clothes and still have a bit of fun so the kids docent get bored.
I like to play a few games or give some longer instructions so the family can have a little distance from the camera and just be themselves and I can catch some more candid moments.
For variety I also like to get the kids by themselves and one on one with their parents it makes them feel really special and as long as its even, individual shots throwssome really great variety into a collection of prints or an album at the end.
These children's portraits really make you step back and see how grown up they are and its a proud moment. Photos that you will love but also ones they will look back on themselves.
Up to 3 outfit changes
As the shoot goes on I let the parents hang back a little and focus on the kids. Siblings always have their own inside jokes and games and even if they are the kind to fight a lot theres usually some love under there somewhere! These two girls seem to be best of friends and are always playing together.
Its not all silly-ness I want to make sure I get some that show of the closeness of your family and the location you have chosen for your shoot.
End the session with a family tickle fight to leave giggling on a high.
These family sessions are $260 include professionally edited digital images a pre-shoot consult (in person by phone or email) and an image reveal where you can see your photos for the first time and discuss print products.
