Today an exciting un-dead story written by Lisa Forster of Little Big Parrots and myself , Photography by Paige.
Children of all ages can really benefit from some after-school drama class not only is it a fun and artistic outlet where the children can make friends, blow off some energy and explore new characters and drama activities, drama is also amazing for self-confidence!
These two sisters attend the Little Big Parrots after school drama program and were this years freaky, creepy zombies. Those zombies - they are so in right now they just love BRAINS! And apparently - wrestling. A short play acted out by the kids is full of fun jokes and props they make themselves. The program has the children learn their lines, find costumes, and compose fully formed characters!

It wouldn't be a Zombie play without some terrified post-apocalyptic survivors! I asked these two primary-school-aged kids to pose as their characters - what they came up with is so accurate and really gives you a true sense of a completely new personality. It is amazing what they have learned in just one term. Students at Little Big Parrots Speech and Drama classes had only 8 weeks to put on a full production, from script to stage.

And a narrator to shake up the story line and pull the whole thing together. Well done learning all those lines!
The aim at Little Big Parrots is to teach students to be creative, confident and most of all adaptable to changing environments. This production proved that they are all of these things and more. We couldn’t be prouder of their efforts and their willingness to improvise in a changing situation. As they say, the show must go on!
